Marketing ideas and how CNews supports it

I tried advertising, it was expensive and I didn’t think it worked so great.

Ever answer an advertising sales invitation this way?  Why not I’m sure that many businesses have.  As in life there are no guarantees with advertising and you can probably think of 20 different ways to spend hundreds of dollars in your business every month.  Now, I’m not a diehard capitalist and certainly don’t see that the free market economy is just that “free” or really a “market.”

That being said, I would want businesses to know that if you want to run a business you have to spend money to make money.  It may seem that customers keep coming with little effort but there is something bringing them it.  Your business and marketing it are all about branding and creating top of mind awareness to the prospective customer.  Have you ever asked a customer what they like about your business or how they came to you?  Your advertising can start out with focusing on that one aspect of your business that a few customers have shared in answering that question.  If you believe that the advertising is expensive, I would like to see your Ad?  What’s the message, how is it set up, where/how does it run, and does it follow the Rule Of 3’s?  If you are really concerned about the cost, compare the cost per prospective customer between the types of advertising (print-radio-TV-digital), you’ll most likely find that print with something like the Coffee News® is the affordable gateway to beginning a story telling adventure!

I read some business information that noted how a business may increase revenues through sales, margins, and customers.  It shared that increasing any one of these will increase revenues.  Changes in sales numbers or margins may improve income quickly and yet they have their limits.  Do you want to sell more items/services per customer or perhaps upsell some of your customers?  I say don’t just focus on more sales per customer but focus on more sales to more customers.  Technology has made traditional advertising stronger.  The goal of marketing your business and what it does is now not only about making sales but also directing customers to learn more about your business’ digital space.  These spaces now share your story.  Advertising encourages relationships, it diverts the customer to learn more about your business.  The majority of customers still get their information offline, so today’s advertising only needs to move a customer to curiosity instead of to the purchase, thanks to digital spaces.  Advertising works via repetition, never believe that your customers know what you do, you have to create a consistent brand and image that plays in their buying process.  When they are ready they will seek you out!

On average, we see 3000 different messages daily, ads are everywhere.  They are on the computer, your phone, TV, sign posts, and retail store, and even the grocery store!  But this doesn’t mean that we understand 3000 different message/commercials.  Subconsciously, we do respond more than we realize, think about why you bought those shoes or ate at that restaurant.  If you believe that you’re advertising because your business has a website or facebook page, nope that is a marketing island.  Advertising is the bridge to that island.  I’d like to close that doing something, anything is better than not doing something.  Coffee News® is your inexpensive, ad repeater with weekly exposure.  Remember that all advertising becomes your re-run of other advertising you are engaged in, whether it is a facebook post and a radio spot or its a road sign and an ad in a local event publication.  Get yourself out there businesses!
