Finding Your Business Voice Pt2

The PBS News Hour’s Brief But Spectacular, shares short interviews with a variety of individuals on their life experience and thoughts on different topics.  Recently one with Franziska Trautmann, who founded Glass Half Full, shared how recycling one item can create another and lead to all kinds of outcomes!  Let’s continue the conversation on finding your business voice through advertising.

As you find your business voice you will build your brand and share your story with potential customers.  Advertising digitally with a webpage and a social media presence is important because almost half of businesses or organizations do not have an on-line presence.  Digital assets should help generate revenue not just share what you do.  It only takes a moment for a visitor to determine if they like or don’t like your site, about 2 secs.  Most of what is read is the headlines and a visitor takes less than 10 seconds to explore.  Any posts, graphics, and images must connect to what you do to a potential customer’s success and most important of all have a call to action button.  Ask the potential customer to call you, place an order, visit your business for a promotion, anything!  In your best business voice tell everyone you have the best burrito, that they have to order right now, and that your burrito will make their day that little bit better than it would be without it.

Now about recycling glass, like Glass Half Full!  Your digital voice along with physical business signage will drive customers to your business where they will see and hear all that you do and from this interaction your voice is heard and your story shared.  The goal with advertising is to focus your vision and its message on solutions, potential customers have an external problem, why they need your service/product, and internal problem, how the external problem makes them feel.  Print advertising and Coffee News in particular will help recycle your story in the daily lives of potential customers.  Remember to focus not on “cost per thousand” but “cost per potential customer.”  Take your digital footprint and turn it into print advertising with another purpose.  Print advertising is an affordable way to create as much adverting bandwidth as possible.  We’ll continue the advertising conversation in another post, until then continued success with sharing your vision and story!  Every story grabs us because of the characters external and internal problems!
